How to Change Your Air Filter
Changing your air filter is easy. With your equipment shut off, lift up the access door on your indoor HVAC unit and you should spot the filter covering your air intake register. The filter is usually held in by a spring-loaded hook securing it in place. Detach this hook and you should be able to slide your filter out with ease. Then slide your new filter in with the cardboard or metal support grid facing away from the air intake vent, and reattach the holding hook in place. You can now throw your old air filter in with your normal trash.
The entire process takes about a minute to complete, requires no additional tools, and yet will have a tremendous impact on the quality of the air in your home.
